You're supposed to be doing a service to the country. That's how is used to be, and that's how it should be.

Power corrupts.
People in political positions cannot be trusted in they're in control of their own salaries.

One could argue that the pressure and responsibilities that come with the job function of politicians warrant the above average wages.

I disagree.
In that case, you came into office knowing what you were getting yourself into. You are doing a service to your country. As a perk while in office, provide free housing maybe. That's it.

Minimum wage should increase with the cost of living.

- Open and concealed carry allowed in all states

- Repeal the NFA $200 tax stamp along with loosening the restrictions on class 3 firearms

- Forbid any attempts and repeal state decisions to restrict guns and gun ownership

- Prison system be transferred to government and out of hands of private holders

- Legalize narcotics like marijuana and mushrooms but tax and regulate it like tobacco and alcohol

- No reduce sentences or plea bargains for murderers, rapists, and other scum

- Have people serving non-violent inmates be drafted in times of war before anybody else and pardon crime after war

- Strengthen job growth and industry by putting America first and establish tariffs on imports

- Any corporation that does business in America will be subjected to taxes and chances of loopholes are slim

- Abolish the Federal Reserve and place Congress at the head of the creation of money

- Pay off debts and revert back to a gold and silver standard to avoid irresponsible debt again

- Repeal the national income tax

- End programs like Common Core

- End ObamaCare

- End several federal agencies where the responsibilities can be assumed by state and local government 

No matter how you look at it, it's not an easy job. And although the exuberant wages some politicians make are excessive, I do believe they should be paid accordingly.

And soldiers have an easy job?
