How would you feel if a high populated country (let's use the U.S.) decided to take all of it's criminals and send them to labor camps to work?

It would heavily reflect the conditions of slavery, but only be implemented to those who break the law. The sentence would also be based on such crime committed. For example, if you robbed someone, it wouldn't be a life sentence, maybe a few months to a couple of years depending on the charges. However, if you killed a family, it'd be a life sentence. There would be no death sentence, just a life time of slavery to the United States government.

They'd work the dirt jobs, such as sewage cleaning, construction, etc.

Section 1.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

But they already pickup trash on the sides of the road. Wouldn't be opposed to them doing more work for the city, such as construction and maintenance

I am for sending non-life in prison people to Labor work. However, life in prison, we should send them to a Mars prison.

Prisoners already act as laborers. Independent contractors make a lot of money off that cheap labor..

The south already does with chain gangs. Those people sure do love their slavery.
