There are over 3 million Muslims in the US, and over a billion worldwide. If the religion was truly the root cause of violence done by Muslims, I think you'd see a lot more attacks. A lot more.

There are parts that I admire certainly, proscription of alcohol and drugs for example. And maybe it's because I really like the Dune series (heavily inspired by a lot of middle eastern culture) but there is a pleasant sort of mystique to a lot of it.However that is outweighed by far by all the typical barbaric shite that comes hand in hand with it. For all the jokes and bants, both the text and the implementation treat humans as inherently unequal. You can argue that the bible does a lot of the same shit, which it does, but you'll be hard pressed to find christians making women wear bin-liners and preventing them from driving. Part of that is more to do with arabic culture, but to try and assert that there is no influence from islam on arabic countries and their customs is rather silly.When they stop treating women like dogs, chucking gays off rooftops and sodomising children then I'd have a bit less of an issue with the religion. But I don't see anything changing any time soon considering how deviation from the qu'ran and scholarly rulings falls under apostasy.tl;drSods law we can't have militant buddhism spreading across the globe instead.
