The odds of one tiny piece of rock floating in space having the perfect conditions for so many forms of life to exist on are so astronomically low that the implication of some Higher Power orchestrating the whole thing don't seem that illogical, in hindsight. It's certainly a more feasible explanation than 'everything just sort of ended up like this'.Doesn't necessarily mean it's the Biblical God though.
