What amount of time should I let pass

Before I settle for any job. And I mean any, minimum wage included. Right now I looking to do volunteer work because I don't need money as I still live with my parents. Eight months? Definitely a year I think. It's month five and I'm already getting more anxious as each day passes. For those that don't know, I recently graduated college. Problem is time is flying by while I do nothing and it feels like I'm wasting my life. I went from graduating college to thinking about how meaningless life is in the shower everyday.

Having some work experience/a job to add to your CV will help you climb the ladder to something better as it were <.< Sadly a degree doesn't always guarantee a job now, so you have to start adding stuff on top of it to present yourself as a good hard working candidate <.<

Don't do volunteer work when you could get a job that pays. You're basically telling future employers that you're willing to give away your labor.

I would say as soon as possible. Even if you will be living with your parents for a little bit longer you can use the time to save up some money to get a head start.

I know, and I should have gotten an internship. I didn't do either and it cost me, but I can't go back in time.

What would you be doing as a newsroom assistant? Checking historical facts?

I don't even know, the guy barely explained it to me and that was two months ago anyways.

Also what also is contributing to my problems:

Fear of driving on the highway, so only looking for a job that I can get to without it (I'm not dying in a car accident). This is something I just can't get over.

OCD when it comes to video games. Part of me doesn't want to get a job so I can have as much time to play the MCC as possible. Also worried about getting a negative K/D in the game so I want to be able to play as much as I can (yes, when video games have been your life from age 10-22 with no social life that's what happens, my stats in a game matter because I have no social life/ambitions/never had romance)

I just don't know anymore. All I can think about in the shower this morning is how meaningless life is, and how I'm one person out of seven billion that doesn't even matter, so why does it matter if I have a job or not? Meh...I don't know anymore. There's no passion for any career, no ambition, no dream job, just to be lazy and play video games. And that's why every day I think of 'that'.

But you can't hold yourself so high that you let things fall by the wayside. if you can find a job, take it. If it's a pizza delivery guy, fine. If it's a receptionist for a dentist, fine. But do *something* to put on your resume to show you have some sort of professional experience, even if it isn't in your field. While you're doing those things, jobhunt for what you really want to do, so at least you have some spending money.

You aren't going to get a job based on your degree alone.

I know. I regret quitting stop and shop after they hired me, but it was only because I got a call to do an interview for substitute teaching, which I'm not even sure I'm going to get. It was foolish to do.

Yes lol. Hey, the fact that I was going to be bagging groceries made me very upset. And it's not like I have no work experience. I worked for three months as panel technician earning $16 an hour.
