gamergate occupies the same category of not-actually-a-cohesive-movement-but-just-a-political-flag that anonymous does, so being "pro-gamergate" is meaningless
I know fuck-all about gamergate. Isn't Kotaku the source of all this?
I didn't say people calling themselves gamergate never accomplished anything, the same way people calling themselves anonymous have accomplished things, it's beside the point

I really don't see why people feel the need to respond if they find the topic "boring." Either put in your two cents or stop cluttering the discussion. It's really that simple.

and has shown an ability to get any topic they want trending worldwide

That's not relevant feedback at all. It's cluttering the discussion with pointless whining. I don't find Meta's dense economic threads particularly interesting, but you don't see me spamming them with "hurr durr this is boring."

I don't find Meta's dense economic threads particularly interesting, but you don't see me spamming them with "hurr durr this is boring."Posts like this, this, this, this and countless others do not further a line of discussion and are still perfectly relevant responses to a thread. Every discussion thread has an implicit call out at the end of "what do you think about this?", and they're simply answering your question.Back and forths like this on the other hand actually do clutter the discussion but no one gives a fuck nor should they because forums like this exist for the sole purpose of catering to what the users want to post abouttl;dr please don't get offended when some people don't care, and only strawmen say hurr durr
OP asked a question. If he didn't intend to ask a question at all I'm not sure OP understands how forums work and maybe he should consider getting a blog instead

Where in the OP is this stated? What fucking thread do you even think you're on right now?
Quote from: Madman Mordo on March 01, 2015, 01:03:33 PMWhere in the OP is this stated? What fucking thread do you even think you're on right now? This is why I used the word implicit. If the OP really did not intend to include that implicit question, (which I actually think they did, so I'm not going to fault them for your own argument), then either:a) They are using this forum as a soapbox and not as a forum for discussion, and they should get a blog.b) This thread is spam, akin to the people who post stupid lyrics threads in the flood. But again, I actually don't think this thread is either of those two things, because there is an implied call for users' thoughts.
Quote from: Baha on March 01, 2015, 01:45:32 PMHere's the easy version:No, the OP doesn't literally have a question written in it.When you post a discussion thread on a forum, you are implied to be asking the rest of the forum to respond with their opinion on the subject."I forgot this was a thing", "I don't care", "Wow what the fuck" and so on are all valid opinions on the subject. If you did not intend to ask the forum to respond with their opinion, what you are doing is either blogging or spamming, and you should either get a blog or stop spamming, respectively. You sound really upset about something really unimportant.
