It's the fucking 20-30 year old dumbfucks who have no idea how the real world works and how immigrants actually impact their money, who are voting to remain.

It does have its benefits; the EU is pretty corrupt. There's a reason there was such a huge divide.

EU supports and others say this is going to spell the end of the UK (Scotland and North Ireland both strongly sided with the EU, and will likely push for further independence), and will set the country back in the global economy.

No one really knows what the end results of this will be, because it's never been done.

Not really. The pound is going to stabilize shortly and regain an upward trend and the rest of the English economy is going to stay above 2008 recession levels.

A quick glance on /pol/ shows that #brexiters are certainly not the salty ones right now.

I'm curious if the vote is going to be followed or not. The UK is more divided than ever and to throw away decades of closer European cooperation because of one side clearing the halfway mark by 1.7% on a whim? It's not a 70-30 or 60-40. Or even a 55-45. It's a 51% for one side. That's a very unconvincing result to abandon the status quo supported by about 49% of voters.

Poorly done Britain. This was a great chance to actually achieve Union reform.

Not really. The pound is going to stabilize shortly and regain an upward trend and the rest of the English economy is going to stay above 2008 recession levels.

The pound stabilizing, which it will, is not the only question and concern that is going to continue hanging over Britain.

Between internal politics (Cameron's future, Scottish and Irish referendum potentials), negotiating with the EU as an independent nation (And arguably one with less standing at the negotiation table), setting up trade deals with many other nations, etc - this referendum is not the end of the road. There is still a ton of work that the Brits need to do before we can say this was successful.

Been watching BBC for the past few hours. Just wanted to say, I absolutely love the British accent. It's so elegant.

And Foyle yields an 80% Remain vote, bringing Remain back in the lead.

That's probably going to be it for me. Almost 2am and I have plans for tomorrow. Here's to hoping I get to wake up with good news.

I think it's fairly clear by now that most British people do not believe that reform of the Union is not a burden appropriate for our country.

And why should it? We never voted to join originally with the expectation that it would be anything more than an economic union.

I'm worrying about a new market downturn. It's in the EU's hands now. If they put tariffs on thr UK, the pound WILL be shaken. The pound has always been the rock in the storm. Take that stability? I don't know.
