Speed limits as a whole are bullshit scam to generate more revenue for cops and should be abolished or replaced with advisory speed limits which you can't be ticketed for violating.

Problem with that is you'll have people that will be driving too slow, causing people to get pissed and drive to fast and end up hitting something.

That, or you'll have people racing on the highways

Perhaps, but multiply that by four and that's how much more often it'll occur if w can choose how fast/slow we want to go on the road.

Great idea. Lets have people going 60 in residential areas or going around blind curves. Also most of a road systems are not designed to be going that fast.

Cause everybody follows the speed limits!!

On many roads I go on, people often for 40 on 30 roads. 50 on 40 roads. 80 on Freeways (65mph is the limit), and 30-35 in residential areas.

My way saves people just going 10mph over the limit from drowning in undeserved tickets. And the current speed limits are designed to be so low, that you'll end up speeding and receiving a ticket.

I can't really speak for its enforceability until I see the text of the bill.

Well, while they're out lining their pockets with speeding ticket money, there are actual serious crimes going on. For example, the city I live in has only 750 policemen to manage 1,000,000 people. Focusing on speeding tickets is a sad waste of time. Especially when it's for people who are just going 10-15 miles above the limit.

I find that difficult to believe. I've never been on a highway in the US where drivers aren't driving about 10 mph above the speed limit, unless they're passing a cop car. It's sort of like jaywalking--you can generally get away with it so long as you're not doing it in front of an officer.

What are these alleged "actual serious crimes" going on, how do you have some sort of secret knowledge of them, and why does nobody report these incidents? If they did, then maybe the cops would have something meaningful to do with their time.
