You guys should check out the VICE documentary on Best Korea if you haven't already.

The DMZ is the most dangerous place in the world according to them. You can only look over to the north side for just a little bit and you aren't allowed to film or take pictures of it without risking a conflict.

Provided we survive as a species long enough, communism will eventually occur when technology abolishes the great barrier of scarcity. But that's about the only situation in which it will occur; telling people "just stop being selfish" in a world with inherent scarcity won't work.
