Wondered what you guys thought of this fascinating insight into the effects of mass immigration on traditionally white working class areas in England.

Personally, I think it's pretty pathetic that people would find this documentary 'racist propaganda'. If the roles were reversed and it was the indigenous population of an African village slowly being displaced by British immigrants people would shit the bed, but because it only effects white working class people negatively it can be passed off as 'multiculturalism'.

Daily reminder that you are not a racist for disagreeing with multiculturalism nor mass uncontrolled immigration. Yeah, people can use it to justify disgusting ideologies such as Nazism, but there's plenty of ordinary working class people like the ones presented in this documentary who don't want to see their culture and way of life die out.

By the time I die, the imported Hispanics will have outbred us and the Pennsylvania Dutch culture will die out entirely except for in secluded Amish and Mennonite communities. Also, my town will probably no longer border farms but a new section of suburbs and section 8 housing complexes to house these welfare queens.

This honestly makes me very sad.

I don't see much difference from how these migrated English people than move on to other areas, just like the retired folk that all live in Wales. Hell, even I'm part of it having moved to "Little England" as Pembrokeshire is now called, were I (with some kid from Cornwall) made an all-Welsh school speak English, and where many arguments in the pub fall down to "Why do you put Welsh on the signs, nobody speaks it here" (Much to the locals' anger).

I don't have a problem with different cultures or races, I see a problem in the lack of integration. Keeping to your own kind for marriage, breeding and what-not is perfectly understandable from both sides and should continue, but the lack of interaction otherwise between the two is just depressing. Just like that Australian Headteacher said, when she first arrived and said hello, everyone just stared back gormless.

I've noticed it in Cardiff as well. Apart from the occasional folk (mostly people who have to interact with you, i.e. Shop owners and Landlords), many of the Middle Eastern muslims (differentiating from the Asians, as they arrive here in droves and they're an alright bunch) in the area treat the white folk like aliens on another planet. Now that may be due to where I live being the student area filled with rubbish and drunks, but being treated like that on the first day I arrived is just ridiculous. While my Dad was helping me move my shit into to my student house, the neighbour came out and naturally my Dad said hello, only to be blanked.

When you move to a new country, you'll have to adapt to follow the unwritten rules of common decency and politeness to make integration easy, whilst also separating yourself enough to maintain your own culture and identity. I did it, Eastern Europeans have done it, Asians and Africans do it too. It's just those from the Middle East that largely resist and try to impose what they believe is perfectly fine onto everyone else (which gets thrown back in their face, and is quite funny to hear about tbh).

Not really sure there is a point to what I've said, so take it as you choose.
