Today, on this beautiful morning of September 18th, voting polls across Scotland will open, asking people a simple yes or no question. That is; should Scotland be an independent country?

I'm going up to my local polling station in about half an hour, as I've been told there will be lengthy ques. It's a firm No vote from me, but I'm hoping the majority of people in Scotland vote for what they truly believe in, and not just what they've been peer pressured into, regardless if it's Yes or No.

So Englanders, what'd you think about the possibility of the Union Jack losing it's lovely blue background after tomorrow? And Burgerclaps, did you know there was a referendum in Bongistan today?

I'm neither Scottish nor English, but from what I've heard the politicians in favor of independence plan to reform the country with more social services such as free healthcare, and use the Scandinavian countries as role models. Which sounds good to me.

I also hope that people will vote on what they believe in, though. Whatever happens it will be exciting.

Ultimately the scots can do whatever they want, but the whole referendum is fundamentally about the UK not being commie enough for the Scotish government. So I hope Scots don't vote for ending the 300 year union that they started because they think the reality of the situation is anything else.

If I were Scottish, I would be voting no. Not because I don't support your push for independence - there are still far too many variables and questions, especially when it comes to the economy, that I would want answers to before pushing is off the brink.

I hope they get a No vote by a margin of 1pc and the British police get to crack some rioting, jingoistic skulls.

It's far too established/recognisable for it to be changing because of a little bit of country breaking away from the union that makes the flag... ahem... >.>

Pretty much this. Maybe a red hand in the center to represent Ulster/NI, but that's what I'm expecting. Who knows, maybe Wales will have a referendum too if they don't get green on the flag.

Huh? You're thinking of the Welsh and English, as it's pretty quiet here regarding Scotland. If anything, it's made people here more supportive of Independence, or at least for more power to the Welsh Assembly.
