The Conservative Leadership Race (who's running, and who's supporting who)

Boris Johnson, former mayor of London, is running with the support of 24 Tory MPs.

EDIT: Boris has announced he will not be officially running; instead, Michael Gove will be the foremost Brexiteer running for leader.

Stephen Crabb (my choice), working-class Welshman and rather moderate, is running with the support of 13 Tory MPs. Interestingly, the MP for my constituency (also working-class) is Crabb's favourite to be Chancellor--Sajid Javid.

Theresa May, Home Secretary who stayed quiet during the referendum, is running with the support of 6 Tory MPs.

Liam Fox, on the Right of the party, is running with the support of one MP.

And Andrea Leadson, Jeremy Hunt and Nicky Morgan are all running with--so far--no MPs in support.

If you want to know who the MPs supporting them are, just ask.

Crabb-Sajid sounds decent (Less of the bullingdon boys club tyvm)
Theresa May would have my pick by gut, but I'm not 100% on it.

Jeremy Hunt - What a c- I mean I think this fellow ought to be put into A&E so he can see what it's like to go through the NHS after all of his cuts.

Ahh, perhaps it's the God-Emperor Donaldus Rex avatar.

But no, when it comes to Boris, he's a good mayor of london (publicity, PR whiz, popular figure) but in terms of running the country... egh no. I prefer to have somewhat boring, dependable leaders rather than 'one of the lads'.

Like with Cameron, when he was being a serious statesman he was doing just fine. When he did 'Call me Dave' and 'Hug a Hoodie' ages ago, that was the most painful cringe outside of #Density.

No way, man. She was almost completely absent from the debate, and has said repeatedly that the government must carry out triggering Article 50. Most of her argument for becoming leader is that she has the capacity to negotiate strongly with the EU.

No politician is going to disregard or delay the implementation of Article 50 regardless of their stance on the EU. A democratic verdict has been reached, it would political suicide to actively dismiss the will of the British people, not to mention highly immoral.
