See you Cowgirl,
Someday, somewhere
I think the constitution should be updated every once in a while. A lot of things just don't apply and are outdated since the 18th century
Not a single thing in the constitution is outdated. Rights do not get old and die. Fuck off with that shit.

OT: I don't think I'd mind reinforcing some parts of the constitution, or expanding protection to other rights. That said, the idea of "updating" the constitution is worrisome. It could , potentially, lead to normalization of constitutional revision, which would be an absolute nightmare scenario.
So there was nothing wrong with the 3/5ths compromise in the Constitution?

No, there really wasn't. Slaves don't pay taxes, and were property instead of sovereign individuals. The compromise also didn't specify Africans, but anyone in a contracted  to such a position.

I could be wrong, but I'm almost sure that non-taxed Indians today still don't count towards a state's population for representation in the House.

17th amendment needs to be updated to prevent lobbying of Senators and to impose term limits.
As I understand, the states' contributions to the union includes congresspeople. I don't think the federal government really has any business (for the most part) in telling the states whom they can or cannot send to Congress. Yeah yeah, states' rights and all that crap, but I believe it's up to the states to make that decision.

In regards to lobbying, it gets a bad rap, but most people don't really understand what it is or how it works. The NRA giving money to congresspeople to vote against gun control bills is lobbying. Jon Stewart going office-to-office (without spending a penny, mind you) to shame politicians into permanently renewing the Zadroga Act is lobbying. It's an extension of free speech, and a very important part of democracy.
