Genocide has been happening in Africa for at least 15,000 years. I'm not sure what you could do to stop it other than one ultimate genocide that reduces the population to near-nothingness.

Mental gymnastics? Is that what it's called when I ask a simple question and then you make false accusations of me? If so, I don't know how else to continue. You'll notice even from your own quote I never said I condone or wish for genocide to happen, or have it be a way to handle one. Sounds more like the mental gymnastics are your own and you realize you have no actual argument.

Ergo - You must think that Genocide is a way to solve Genocide.

You then ask the point 'How do you fix africa's problems then?' (Paraphrasing)
Which is the same as asking how long is a piece of string, there isn't a specific answer unless you give a specific country/problem. You can't simply start generalising one of the most diverse continents on the planet like that.

So, ask a more specific question and please by all means clarify that you don't actually support genocide.

Why would you falsely assume I think genocide is the correct way to handle the situation by asking you for your own idea for solutions? That would be your mistake.

Something is bugging me but I can't place quite what it is so I suspect that might be the cause of my irritableness.

Technically, you can solve genocides with a massive genocide of your own, because I just don't see another way except for the people rising up.

Revolts very rarely ever solve anything, most times it just ends in annihilation of the rebels. What worked in 1776 is unlikely to ever bear the same fruit in 2014. UN intervention in a genocide is what is needed to stop it, it's generally quite a simple matter of shooting the aggressors.

Permit me the trigger happiness but when someone has just tried to butcher a village of women and children because they are Tutsis rather than Hutus, they forfeit their 'right' to living on the same planet. If they are happy to attack and kill unarmed civilians then perhaps they should test their mettle against people who can actually fight back. The UN is a neutral force that does just that, but it isn't proactive enough in situations like Rwanda.

You solve the genocide by killing those who start it and defending those who are being persecuted, you prevent the next one by educating all of those involved as to why it should never happen again.

That does NOT mean I condone, encourage or would make such an attempt until absolutely necessary.

I'm not entirely happy with the highlighted part. Genocide is never necessary, that sort of thinking is what leads to genocide actually being carried out.

I agree, dumping arms into a conflict will never solve it.

Every time we get involved things just get worse for the entire world.

Not necessarily, but more often than not when the USA turns up to the party it goes to shit. Which is why the UN exists.

So, simple question, what do you propose? There's no ulterior motive in that question, I just want to hear YOUR idea of solutions without you making some kind of accusation on my part.

Shoot the aggressors, defend the innocents. Target those responsible for the inciting of the violence and the promotion of it. Then educate the survivors on both sides as to why it should never happen again.
I don't work for the UN, so I'm not exactly the most educated on how to resolve and prevent genocide but it strikes me as quite the simple matter of shooting the degenerate bastards who think that it is an acceptable thing to do.

Genocide is rampant in many parts of Africa, I'm of course speaking of the worst areas.

It really isn't.
Civil war is rampant, warlords and militias are rampant. Genocide is not, the most recent genocide in Africa was in Darfur in the early 2000s.
