ITT: kinder, as usual, makes christfags look bad.

It's legally fine, but not the right thing to do, and it can do nothing but harm.

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
Is it right that I have all of my belongings taken away due to the fact that I thought its not right to force someone to go to church?

Pretty much I said I didn't want to go to church to my mother, after saying this it got into an argument that pretty much ended up with me being grounded for about a couple months just because I thought it was not right. :s
Sounds like what my parents used to do.
They used to constantly threaten that if I didn't go to church, they'd take away everything I own minus enough clothes for 7 days and my bed.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
My mom was the same way. Every Sunday I had to get up early and go to church. If I refused to get up and go, she threatened to take my electronics and stuff away because I didn't want to go to church. In reality I just wanted an extra day to myself to wake up late. Saturday was really the only day where I can wake up late and enjoy a day off from school without having to worry about anything else.

Around 5 years ago I told my mom that I wanted to stay home and sleep-in on Sundays. We went through this big conversation and I explained to her that I needed more sleep because I barely got any during the school week. She understood and since then I have not gone to church in 5 years.

I have no intent to go back any time soon either. I never felt a special connection in religion anyway.

We always say to fight fire, you must use fire. This is wrong. Fighting fire with fire will leave scars and a new flame will rise. We must instead use water. It is the opposite of fire, it extinguishes the fire, it cools, it refreshes, it heals. We are made up of 70% water, we are not made up of 70% fire. Please practice what we truly are
Are you under 18? If so, Congrats! When your parents tell you to do something, so long as it's not illegal or threatening, then you listen and do it

Free of Religion grants all citizens (regardless of age) the right to and from religion and religious practices. Secondly, child abuse is illegal and forcing a child to go to such events could cause emotional stress or even deeper pain that comes out later on, thus could be considered child abuse. As well as stripping that child's only source of entertainment to keep their minds occupied, creating the possibility of being driven to insanity and potential suicide.

Is the parent wrong from doing this? I think so because it shows how narrow minded those parents are. Their actions only continue to stagnant future generations.

Yes, they have the right, but is it really right?
In the end it'll just make OP dislike Christianity and put a space between him and his parents.
It's Kinder. Why would you respond to him or take anything he says seriously?

Nope. Not right at all.
Your parents probably want you to go to church and become a Christian. They have that set in their minds, so when you fight that it just infuriates them.

But its your life. You choose what to follow. I'm a christian but I won't force my kids(when I have them) to go to church. What kind of faith is one built out of being forced?

. . .

I'd post a gif but am on mobile. Freedom of religion is put in place to restrict government influence. If it applies like you say then I should sue certain combapies for prohibiting firearm carry on their premise. But age does matter and minors have less rights than adults. Juveniles Don't have right to a jury nor can they own firearms; schools also limit clothing. Your logic is beyond flawed.

And did you ACTUALLY compare church to child abuse? Holy shut my sides. I guess a kid shouldn't  get dental checkups or attend school of they Don't want to

You're the only narrow minded open if you think an hour of church once a week is a detriment on society

OP is disrespecting his parent's wishes, they can punish him as they please as long as it's legal.
I didn't say it wasn't legal, just that it's a shitty and disrespectful thing to do.

How are they being disrespectful?
Taking away his shit for not going to church is disrespectful. Are you you really this fucking thick?

All they're doing is forcing him further away from the church, not reinforcing his faith in the church.

What a Christian thing to do...

They can take away his shit if they want. That's not disrespect, that's parent's enforcing rules when their child is disrespectful to those rules. And you call ME thick? I know you're not the brightest and most fun individual, but pls

Also, them enforcing their house rules has nothing to do with being Christian.
Forcing your kid to do something they don't want to do, then punishing them for saying "no" is fucking disrespectful.

duhdoy.

Not when it's a rule of the house and they have to respect the rules while they live there.

HUR DUR DOY
So it's entirely respectful to take your kid's shit away for disagreeing with you?

They can disagree all they want, it's disobeying that is the problem. And yes, if they disobey and disrespect, that's fine. It's their house, it's not like they're throwing him to a dungeon.
So it's not disrespectful to take away your kid's shit?

Not while they're under 18 and living at your house, no.
