Should parents be forced to take action once their kid(s) reach a certain weight

There's this Mexican family in my town who has a daughter that looks like shes in elementary school. I seen the kid and she's a blimp. The kid looks like a marshmallow with legs. Yesterday I was at Subway and some fat fuck moms walked in. Each one had to way at least 300pounds or close to it. Then their kids came in behind them which were just as fat. There's some middle school girl who probably weighs over 200 and some elementary kid that probably weighs over 130.

To me the parents of these kids should be forced to get their kids on a diet and exercise program to get them down to a health weight and if they fail to do so that's when the government steps in. Each month if nothing changes in their weight the parents get fined and after so many strikes that's when SS takes action. They take the kid(s) to a group and they have programs to get them down to a healthy wight.

Uh, that's taking things a bit too far. Yeah, being fat is disgusting as fuck, but there are a lot of reasons that people could be fat other than "I can't control my eating".

When it's private healthcare I couldn't care less, they're paying for it. The kids should be "salvaged" though from total negligence of healthy eating or exercise when needed, as they can adapt easily. The adults, probably living most of their lives like that, are write-offs.

For public/state healthcare (NHS and what have you), taxes should be added in depending on what "weight bracket" they and their child(ren) fit into. I understand unavoidable cases like Type I diabetes or inherited health problems, but with obese people having a increased risk of Type II, heart disease, and practically every disease under the sun, they will inevitably put strain on the health service and cost far more in terms of healthcare than an average person, and so should be taxed more as a result, with the weight bracket to determine how much at risk they are of getting health problems more likely and earlier in life.

Of course this could all be avoided if education on healthy eating was actually introduced and more importantly, how to cook healthy food in the first place. Microwave dinners, junkfood and the like are far from fucking healthy and the lack of knowledge on how to fucking cook basic food is astounding.

This is a wider thing on obesity than just punishing parents.

The problem with this is that it actually costs the taxpayer more to categorize overweight people into "weight brackets" due to the astronomical levels of bureaucracy involved. You're better off just letting them stuffing toxic sludge into their gobs, because it's currently cheaper, as much as it begrudges me to say.

Although I agree with your last point. The key here is essentially education and proper upbringing, starting with killing off the fucking horrendous fat acceptance movement. I also heard a statistic floating around that obesity is harder to combat if it starts off at an early age.

Both the government and the corporations always get used as the typical scapegoat in this discussion, but it's really got nothing to do with them. The real culprits here are the shitty parents and the people who entertain the idea that being at an unhealthy weight is somehow okay or acceptable.

I think we should take sticks and tie them to fat people's heads. Dangle the most appealing food source to them on the end of the stick. Everybody knows fat people don't have the strength to move their arms above the horizon line. That way all the fat people chase their food and get exercise.

And for the crafty ones, you strap a bomb in with the head band. If a smart fat person figures out a way to get their food and removes it, they explode. If another fat person steals their food, they explode, thus setting off the secondary fat person as well.
