Sort of. The Republican field was so flooded with people, and now that the first two places where they get elected to receive delegates (you need a certain number to win your parties election) were so poor for a lot of then, they suspended their campaigns.

These guys were polling in the single digits as well.

They haven't "gotten over it," though--they've kowtowed and acquiesced to it, at best.

If they co-opted far left social policy in full, would they even be conservatives anymore?

Because acceptance of same-sex marriage isn't far-left, it's a fairly moderate position, and there are far more consequential issues in the political spectrum than that.
