If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Not exactly a shift in view, more gaining a view. The whole sexuality shi-bang, trans stuff and what-not.

"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
My university has so far been the antithesis of what I was made out to believe people would be acting like. Even the gender studies majors are pretty chill and rational about things. My critical thinking teacher also gave me an A on our final when I just ranted about PC for a couple questions.

where do you go to school?
University of Detroit Mercy. It's a private Jesuit university, so that helps I imagine.

Oh for sure lol

I'm at an east coast public liberal arts university, so the crazies are out in full force here.
I've yet to encounter the dreaded "liberal academia" at my university either, well at least not with the professors. I can't say the same concerning the student body. Most of my history professors have been Republican or center-right. One of the political science professors is actually a libertarian.
>Oklahoma or whatever flyover state
You're in real America

Urban North Carolina is to the South as California is to America.
I've had two professors plug Sanders' website repeatedly during class.
Wow. That website is objective shit. It doesn't even list sources and gives out statistics and claims.

Definitely changed my views on gay/trans issues, but that was years ago. I've also loosened my stance on abortion over the years. Can't think of anything particularly recent, though. Being out of school doesn't help.

Tbh, my stance on incest, at least of the brother/sister or cousin variety

As long as it's between two consenting adults and not being used for reproduction, it's still weird as hell, but I can't say there's anything objectively wrong with it

It's pretty pathetic that you'd have to resort to shagging your sibling because you can't socially interact with others, but I get that.

I came to the conclusion that maturity comes from an understanding of things and making the right decisions, even if it goes completely against what you actually want to do.

Rockets on my X
I notice that more aspects to views of mine are going negative instead of positive. Which therefore makes me turn away in disinterest. But, something else, too.

I don't know what to call it. Ruthless doesn't quite fit. Motivated doesn't count either. Maybe it's a temporary safety tactic. Everything I look at, or do, still tires me.  And as I grow more negative in outlook to things, I go through a train of thought that's rather simple.

I can't escape from what's around me no matter what view I have or what choice I make. So the only way forward is to simply do it, since it won't otherwise do anything by itself. I wouldn't say it's a motivator. But it seems like an off switch to me. Sort of like.....removing the needless formalities or binds to things and just simply moving despite what's in the way.

Slowly becoming more conservative in my economic beliefs (though I still think socialism would work better... if that makes any sense), with things regarding taxes, health care, etc. Additionally, I've lowered myself on the Authoritarian/Libertarian scale (closer to Libertarian) in almost every aspect of my life.

My hatred for Islam has increased tenfold after the attacks on France. You don't get to attack the greatest country on earth and live to tell the tale.

I'm much more open to the idea that mass surveillance is actually helpful, despite being a unilateral human rights abuse. The recent tensions re: refugees and the possibility of extremists hiding among them is what prompted me to have a little more faith in the PATRIOT Act and America's ability to keep the people safe.

Even though they were all european nationals

screening for refugees here is already more thorough than you'd think

Anyway, might as well post mine

My identity with which party I associate with in the US. I don't like the Republican party because all they do now is spout intolerant rhetoric and fear mongering, and I also don't like the Dems because it seems they're way too into social issues and try way too hard to take the moral high ground with whatever movement is popular.

Basically I hate all parties. Even if my beliefs fall more in line with Democrats, I really don't want to be associated with them. If that makes any sense.

You don't have to tell me that. Believe me, I know about the 18-24 month long vetting process. I'm not anti-refugee and I've never made any claims that refugees were responsible for the Parisian massacre. All I'm saying is that the existence of America's mass surveillance programs gives me a stronger sense of security. The fact that the 1-2 thousand Syrian refugees who have already entered our country have not committed acts of terror tells me that we're doing something right with regard to both the vetting process and our ability to monitor people within the nation.

There are no extremists hiding among refugees and even if there were the Patriot Act has nothing to do with the screening of refugees.

Also the Patriot Act hasn't prevented any acts of terrorism since its enactment.
Pretty much this. The Patriot Act in the traditional sense of which we know it, has expired anyway.

That... and they're probably not terrorists and just normal every day middle class citizens trying to get away from a faction that is worse than the Nazi's.
