They weren't shutdown because of political viewpoints, if that were the case r/dankmemes would be gone too because of what Chally posted about a month back in regards to the BLM meme. Reddit claims it's because the community was planning a Doxing and trying to obtain personal info. from another site. However that unfortunately still hasn't stopped people from making celebratory false claims that the site was slowly being degraded because of its existence. It's not as if Reddit is bigger now than it ever has been or anything....
