So this might end up becoming an issue for Poland and is drawing the ire of Brussels and Berlin.

Poland is proposing to change the retirement age for Polish people. With males receiving it at age 65 and females at age 60.

Reasoning is based on different roles and expectations for males and females in society. But Brussel consider it discriminatory and anti-equality.


So what do you think?

It is ok even if there is a difference in retirement ages between males and females, because, if I understood correctly, Poland reduces retirement age from 67, so everyone wins. Also, is this newsfeed reliable source of information?

I think it's a very complicated topic of discussion that can't be summed up lightly. It varies for every country and population but honestly an equal retirement age seems the most reasonable. Men tend to live shorter due to their physiology and due to the fact that in the past and present day they (usually) take the tougher jobs. It's my opinion that 65 is a stretch for men. If you're 60, five more years in whatever job you work is a long five years. I don't see why they can't bring it down to 60.
