I think it's more of an issue of same-sex relationships having more trouble staying together than how same sex parents actually interact with the child.

How come? Is it just statistically speaking that homosexual relationships end in speraration more often than not?

that's some individual basis type shit right there if i do say so myself.

certainly comes with it's own unique set of problems for the child tho.

A good home is a good home, whether it's a single parent, two parents, amalgamated, typical adoption or same sex adoption.

I think in terms of the difficulties kids might face from having homosexual (adoptive or IVF) parents are going to decrease fairly soon, if not already. Society is already generally accepting of it, although the SJW lynchmobs on people who aren't all that open minded are the most surefire way to entrench bigotry. Kids are probably always going to use Gay and derivatives as playground insults, because kids are bastards. If there is anything remotely different about a kid and he isn't high on the pecking order? Boom, made fun of.

As long as the potential homes are put to the same criteria as hetero households, there shouldn't be any issue.

And as a general view, there are a fucktonne of orphans/children in care and a load of normal families who are quite happy to shit out another round of child benefits delightful children rather than take in someone else's genes, so if people who aren't so able to pass on their legacy feel like looking after someone else's kids and giving them a loving home - why on earth would that be a problem?

Well, I'm not a retard, so I'm aware that same-sex couples are not better nor worse parents than hetero couples.

Do you happen to have any of those stats on hand?

Give me a bit to respond. I don't necessarily disagree, I'm just on mobile.

As far as I'm aware, children develop issues when one of either parent is missing. If a child was raised with 2 dads, they are still missing a mother; an extra father does not take the place of a nurturer.

This is my thinking so far.

The lack of one parental figure (be it the mother figure in male homosexuality, and father figure in female homosexuality) is what I'm concerned with. Does this actually have any impact on how the child will grow up?

Literally doesn't matter in any significant way. What's far more important is how you're raising your child.

Actually it can, a father can take on the nuturing role to a reasonable extent. Obviously it wouldn't be great if the kid with two fathers had two 'fathers' and no 'mother' but from what I remember you find in those relationships one parent become the 'mother' and the other the 'father' regardless of their biological sex. Nuturer and Provider/Teacher would perhaps be better labels there though.

As for kids developing issues when a parent is absent, yeah that does tend to happen but it's not a fully determined outcome. That would have to factor in early years input (prior to the absence), the manner of departure and what have you.

Single parents can raise kids so I don't see why a same-sex couple can't.

The rise in households headed by a single mother is responsible for the persistence of relative poverty in the US.

Single parents shouldn't raise kids.
