If someone doesn't feel as if any party displays their views correctly, and there will always be one person, then they shouldn't be forced to vote.

I'd agree with it so long there was a "I disagree with all the parties"/Abstention box.

If you're gonna force people who hate voting to vote, at least give them a reasonable choice to vote for.

I actually cannot cast a vote. I am an American now living in a country that has compulsory voting. However, I am not a citizen, and thus cannot vote. Another however, I never voted while living in the U.S. because I strongly oppose the American political system. So I am inclined to disagree. Third however, the country I live in has more political parties and the social issues of the U.S. are non-issues here, so we will have to see.

The right to abstain is equally as important as the right to cast a vote.

That being said I consider voting to be a fundamental duty of every citizen.

Well, it's not restricted to two parties, but I know what you mean.

It wouldn't really change my stance. You could argue that it would incentivize the public to start educating themselves on their candidates, but I don't know.

If anything, voting should be more restrictive. You should have to take some kind of test.
