You know what America needs?
I know you don't like America, but there's no reason to punish them with such a horrible system.
The NHS is a great system, it's just under funded in parts of England.
It really isn't. It's quite mediocre and - considering how much we spend on it - really quite frustrating. Did you ever see that article about the NHS not being free-at-the-point-of-use in ten years' time? It's not particularly sustainable; it needs serious reform.
Maybe if we stopped putting so much money into the private sector.
Conversely, we could lease hospitals out to contractors and put fiscal responsibility with local boards.
That'd be a
start. It's not a case of the government misallocating funds, it's a case of them having too much funds in the first place. Remove all of the spending on defence, foreign aid, welfare and a bunch of other things and we'd still have a deficit.
