President Obama said his administration will grant “deferred action” to two groups – parents of United States citizens or legal permanent residents who have been in the country for five years, and young people who were brought into the country illegally as of 2010.

I don't have a problem with this.

Part of me wants to agree with Rand Paul's point that it's not the place of the executive branch to be making sweeping reforms like this, but after nothing but gridlock on the issue for the past decade, I'm kind of relieved to see that the plan leans toward a "keep the good, deport the bad" policy.

Even after this reform our immigration system will still be a huge mess.

Hopefully someone sues him and holds this bill up in court for years and years.
