ravensbourne had lots of cubicles not inside another bathroom, they were all just external cubicles and you walked through one door and there was the toilet, you didnt have to go through another door to go into the cubicle after and the sinks were just on the side

my current uni does it differently but whats stopping the kind of men who would do these things in the first place in any other room

even my secondary school had unisex toilets in a open-plan, people just didn't seem to care, it was just a toilet

Right, but you said in general. Gender-less bathrooms are not a safe idea.

its not safe in the same way walking an alleyway at night is not safe
if you think there might be potential danger in a public unisex bathroom at night youd probably avoid going to it
there are people that are afraid of doing that now

Why should you have to avoid going to the bathroom like you avoid an alley at night?

You don't need to walk down the alley (well, sometimes you do), but you need to use the bathroom.

its likely there won't be any problems, you're thinking about 3 men who are all criminally inclined and are also probably friends being in this bathroom at the same time as a young woman

what kind of "public" toilet are you talking about where things like this could happen? if it were in a restaurant, supermarket or wherever you might be at night in a

if you were in the middle of nowhere using a truck stop toilet i would imagine you'd be kinda scared wherever you were, and you'd rather just pull up at the side of the road and pee there if you really needed to

nothing is stopping those same men from waiting just outside the women's toilets or just going into those toilets, if those men went to the toilets cause they wanted to do their business thats all they would do

You have a point, but I still don't like the idea.

People can call the cops on 3 men loitering outside a bathroom. If they're inside nobody would even know.

There's just too many variables.

just saying these variables are still within a rare situation in the first place

i mean if they were standing in front of the toilet would you even just call the cops, its not like theyre going to signal that theyre going to rape you before you approach them

Cameras in bathrooms? Really?

they already have them here, not in the cubicles
it's not really a big deal unless you plan on doing something other than washing your hands

People will get assaulted on camera. It doesn't matter. Every 7/11 has working cameras yet they get robbed all the time.

the point is, they're still better off with cameras than not, because you have video proof of the incident, and (hopefully) a good picture of the guy's face
