TL;DR - The NHS is still operating under a model of care that worked in the 60s/70s but hasn't been able to modernise itself for the growing and ageing population, and is now increasingly under pressure.

This is depressing. The NHS is the only thing this country has going for it and things are bound to get worse.

We're the only country in Europe to not implement a hybridised model of healthcare so I'm not surprised. Tories want to scrap it altogether while Labour just want to dump money into it and hope the problem solves itself when neither are viable solutions.
