I neither fear, nor despise.
In Fahrenheit 451, I read a passage many years ago where it mentioned Fire as being perpetual motion.
Although saying fire is perpetual motion is untrue, it raised a question: it such a thing possible?

Is there even a possibility of a machine that doesn't experience friction, and is forever self-sustaining?

Nuclear Fusion reactors would be the only thing I can think of, and even then that would only be possible if we somehow managed to figure out how to bring waste down to zero.

I am always around, but never seen. I am often avoided, but you can't out run me. for I will come when you're old and grey, or maybe even the very next day. I will come with cold embrace, and give you rest with a chilled kiss on your face. I come in many forms of emotional state, whether it's irony, love, laughter, or hate. I am everyone's final fate.
In this one song she claims this kiss is a perpetual motion, so there you have it.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Well, we've got stuff like this:

...but it can't really power anything - you try and stick a generator on that and it'll change the weight, and mess it up.

Then there's the comedic perpetual motion generator:
YouTube

As for something that's more than a novelty or for the sake of humour, not much. You could argue a hydroelectric damn or a "water-drop" generator is perpetual, however.

My stupidity is self evident.
The first and second laws put a damper on any attempt at getting work out of a perpetual motion device.

But if gravity is unlimited, and gravity makes movement, and movement creates energy, isn't that sort of unlimited?
Gravitational systems aren't isolated and therefor do not violate first or second law.

In fact if you consider the accumulation of entropy in the universe there will be a point of thermodynamic equilibrium when there is no energy gradient. Gravitational systems will no longer be able to do work.

I've always wondering if you could set up a system using magnets to push and pull to turn something to make a generator. Like a windmill that turns because of magnets.

This guy has had scientists debunk him over and over. And yet, his wheel still spins. It won't power a city. But the fact that it powers his house is enough, no? Watch how it works. It uses simple balance, fine tuned to perfection, and gravity.

And, if you want to get simple, stick a turbine in the ocean. So long as we have an ocean, there will be waves and currents. With waves and currents, flowing water, you'll always have power.
