“My son didn't shoot himself. I never believed it. I won't believe it,” said Victor White, Sr., the father of 22-year-old Victor White, III, who back in March, died from a gunshot wound.

It happened while handcuffed in the backseat of an Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office patrol car, during a drug arrest. According to State Police, who are handling the investigation, once at the jail, White refused to exit the vehicle.  As the arresting deputy requested assistance, they say white produced a handgun he had been hiding in his pants, and shot himself in the back.

But the autopsy, performed by the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office, reports the opposite, listing the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest. The family is puzzled as to how he could have shot himself in the chest with his hands cuffed behind his back.

"My initial response was correct, that something was awry, and that something had gone wrong,” said White, Sr.

The manner of death was ruled a suicide. But, the family of White aren't convinced.

State Police cannot comment, saying it's an ongoing investigation. White, Sr. says authorities aren't even talking to the family, leaving them without closure.

"Here is a family that, we are still grieving,” said White, Sr. “I'm angry the autopsy report took so long. I'm angry and frustrated with the fact that it's still not over."

Nothing, due to the amount of police in the US you're going to find at least one abuse of power probably every day. However the amount of police that perpetrate these crimes are about 1% of the entire police force. Unfortunately cops abusing their power makes more money for the media than cops lawfully doing their jobs and so they play it up like it's constantly happening to keep people glued to their channel/website to bring in that delicious ad revenue.

It's kind of like how the media gives no shits about how they're actively promoting the next mass shooting by glorifying the act of them due to the fact that another mass shooting means more money for them.

Well, no it doesn't. You could only reach that conclusion with any confidence by being a pedantic piece of shit and, even then, you're still wrong. If I say "what the fuck is wrong with ASDA", I'm not condemning every single employee. There could be something wrong with structure, management, perception, general ethics et cetera, with a relationship which can be mapped inversely by number of individuals and influence.

Your context of speech says otherwise. When you speak about an organization or group, then you're talking about everybody affiliated with it. Don't want people to think that? Say something like "what the fuck is wrong with certain cops in the U.S?"

I've explained to you before, the "militarization" of police isn't bad. We live in a new age where serious threats are being made constantly and foreign groups are trying to cause harm to the nation. No matter what happens, law enforcement is and will be first responders to ANY minor or major event domestic event. These new vehicles, body armor, and technology goes towards protecting not only the lives of officers risking their lives (for shit pay I might add) but for the lives of anybody else nearby. What do you think would have happened if the Boston Bombings was a much larger attack and officers on scene didn't have the adequate  tools to respond with? Plenty of people could have very much died

And I'll say again, over 750K people are sworn officers. Not all of them are bad. There will be some but it doesn't mean all are bad
