Male/Female nudity, why is sexual shit considered taboo and censored?

I felt like asking in Serious because I thought I would get a better response in here. Why is it that nudity is considered a taboo, especially in media? Guys can walk around flaunting their nipples just fine, but a woman cannot do it without being censored. Are breasts evil or something? Do they really poison the minds of anyone who might see them?

I'm not some sort of activist or whatever but it does bother me that guys get to walk around topless while women are expected to cover themselves up. Is a kid gonna get nightmares from seeing parts of a body they've probably seen many times when they were younger anyway? I mean, I get that the hardcore porn shit isn't suitable for kids, yeah but if it's just nudity then I don't really see any problems.

Anyone knowledgeable on the subject care to explain or help me understand it? Would be appreciated.

I think both should keep their nipples away but in regards to your question female nipples are perceived as sexual therefore should be covered as you would your other sexual organs

New York City allows women to go topless with their nipples exposed, it's just that nobody does it because I guess there's still some sort of stigma women themselves have in their minds. It doesn't help that there's men out there that instantly go "Boobiez!" and lose their shit.

Because that shit doesn't belong anywhere else. It probably shouldn't be as big of a deal as it is, and maybe that's merely the result of having a tattoo for such a long time, but I'm personally glad that it's generally frowned upon. Less sex, the better.

How come? I'm interested in hearing what you think of sex as a whole. While I think it can be a bit too excessive and graphic, I don't think it's something that should be overly censored, reproduction is part of the life cycle.

That's kind of a different subject though. While I do believe that sex is just nature's way of conniving us into reproducing (which is disgusting in and of itself), I also just find the act repulsive as well, from an outsider's perspective. Because I look at the act for what it is--you're vigorously thrusting your piss organs into each other. And that's just regular sex.

It's fucking gross, and humanity's obsession with it is what I'd call a blight on an otherwise intelligent species.

A strapping, barrel-chested man is often enough to get some women wet. It's not just nipples--large, tough pectoral muscles, a six-pack, an Adonis girdle, etc. are all features of a physically "ideal" man, and it's perfectly acceptable for a physically fit man to be shirtless. Yeah I see what you mean about it looking gross. I find the really nice feeling you get from it hard to ignore, though.

Breasts on women are, for some reason, more sexualized than nipples on men in media. Since they're more sexually identified, they can be seen as indecent. Why are they indecent? Humans have a long history with being ashamed of sexuality, especially female sexuality (Eve and temptation being a notable example), and it's a mindset we still haven't grown out of.

One of the few things that legitamately pisses me off is sexism.

It's like, having 'balls' is associated with manliness and toughness, while being a 'pussy' is associated with cowardliness and being a wimp. Don't women have to go through much more pain than men? Guys don't have to deal with periods and childbirth.

'Pussy' could arguably just be another way of saying scaredy cat though, but still.
