You said you have access to a gym... Use it, I've started working out with a couple of friends and its been a pretty fun experience.

Eat protein and carbs and if your still not happy with your body after months/years of this whip out the fucking rpids and shoot up in  the sewer

Anyways it's called working out. In your case you've gotta pump iron right? Hit the gym. My issue was getting smaller, so I can't help much tbh. I suggest looking shit up online like almost everyone in the world does.

What does your diet consist of atm?
About 70% cafeteria pizza atm but I'm not gaining any weight.

That's because you're eating only simple carbohydrates you need lots of protein to get buff, but too much protein will make you chubby if you don't exercise enough. Try including broccoli and black beans into your diet. Dark leafy greens like kale and spring mix are really good for you as well since they're high in fibers they can help digest the protein. Also don't drink any sugary drinks. Drink mainly water, and if you need something with flavor try unsweetened green tea and/or coffee with heavy cream. Skip the nonfat shit you need good whole fat to get your muscles ripped, but you have to work out daily. Also, don't skip leg day.

I'm pretty convinced at this point that making my body less disgusting to look at is going to make me happier.

I know I'm not going to get anything out of repeating physical tasks, that'd be retarded. But I need results.
Not trying to discourage you here, but there's a long road ahead. You have to stick with it for a while, you have to pace yourself, sleep right, and perhaps most importantly, you have to eat right. That 70% pizza diet isn't going to work, for starters.

It's a gradual process that pays off if you stick with it, and you're okay with keeping it up for the indefinite future.

what kinds of workouts should I do?

I honestly don't know any exercises; however, if you go to the gym there is usually someone you can talk to about what machinery you should be using to achieve your gains.

Are you going after muscle mass or just gaining more weight in general?

Well I guess it started last year when I was trying to slim down. To do so I just ate less and that did a decent job until the start of this summer where I began to lift, run, etc.

The thing is that I've never cared enough to start working out on a consistent basis but finding motivation in what could come from it seems to be working really well for me. Having goals to work towards is what I mean (for me it's imagining situations I could find myself in if I work really hard such as; playing professional baseball/hockey, finally getting the girl I like, or just having a toned, fit body in general.) They're motivational goals that really can push you towards completing your set or going beyond it.   

Like I've been routinely working out every second or third day for 2 months and I'm seeing major results. And now that in itself drives me to continue doing what I'm doing most days.

oh and having really good music helps too.

More mass in general, especially in my arms and torso. Whatever that means. I don't want a gut but I'm way too thin all over. Should I focus on muscle or fat too?

Dunno. I think it depends on the person. But not quite. If you watch really obese people slim down, you'll notice that they lose fat in all avenues. Arms, face, legs, torso. So I'm assuming that it works that way as well if you want to increase your weight. It'll all round out.

A little bit of fat might do you some good. Fat, of which, is a hell of a lot easier to acquire then muscle. Then again, that depends on how active you are.

When I was right in the middle of my heavy chemo, I went down to 160 pounds because I didn't eat fuck all. My average weight was normally 180. When I started eating more again, it didn't take too long to gain that weight back.

This is something complex to consider though because you don't want to overshoot your weight. I'd focus on both, more fat, and building some muscle.
