She wasn't deterred when she was threatened with jail - I doubt it'll change
I don't understand why they just can't fire her. I mean that's what usually happens when you don't do your job correctly.
It's complicated.
As a clerk, which is an elected position, Davis cannot be "fired" in the normal sense, as she has no boss. In order for her to be removed from the office, she would need to be impeached by the Kentucky Legislature, or have charges of misconduct brought against her by the Attorney General.
