If you don't like it, be a responsible consumer and boycott the business. That may not be an option. May communities are staunchly anti-LGBT and citizens may have to go miles and miles out of their way to find a business that they are comfortable doing business with.

For local businesses, maybe, but I don't see chain stores denying LGBT customers.
Or get pissed off and try to find a normal gas station then carry on with your life because you're too busy to protest and boycott a business.
You're arguing this from an ignorant perspective.
Actually there are lots of neighborhoods in states like California for example where you have to drive 20 minutes to go to a big store. People should have to drove 20 minutes to spare your feelings?
Contrary to what you think you know about America (because you've never fucking been there in your life)
it's full of racists everywhere. There are Asian and Mexican stores who'd deny service to black folks in LA if they were allowed to.
just like it is our right as consumers to slander, libel and boycott said businesses as well as choose to spend our money elsewhere.

The fact that you think it's a good idea shows you don't understand what this law entails. I'm sorry, but no. It's a terrible law and it's an embarrassment.
Quote from: Mad Max on March 29, 2015, 05:01:31 PMGenuine question:I know the Bible says gays aren't cool. But what exactly is the religious belief where you're not allowed to serve/interact/share a community with gays? There isn't one. Like I said earlier in the thread, it's not about not wanting to serve gay people, it's about not wanting to participate in activities which are contrary to one's convictions.

I should still be able to do that, though.
Well liberalism isn't a religion, so I'm not sure what your point is.
Quote from: Mad Max on March 30, 2015, 12:31:27 PMWell liberalism isn't a religion, so I'm not sure what your point is.While I obviously think religious people, and thus their convictions, are incorrect it's still about a wider point of convictions in general. I'm not thinking in explicitly religious terms. Although Flee's post leads me to consider the idea that I might just be underestimating the amount of bigotry that exists in America at the moment. While I stand by the law in principle, it's entirely possible that--consequentially--Challenger is right, and I am wrong.
Passing legislation like this in the name of religious freedom is dishonest.
You don't really have that here in the UK.
