If you know, you know.
I'm currently saving for a place of my own, with the Irish banks requiring 10% of the total price of the house.
The prices here I tell you - are inflated more than Pamela's tits. A quarter of a million on average for a house and about 170k Euro for an apartment - and it won't necessarily be a good one.

What is the situation like in your country? How long would it take to pay off your mortage?

Is renting okay? Rent is even worse - renting a room can be as high as 500 / 600 euro and you get fuck all for that money, probably sharing the house with 15 people.

Most of my friends are renting right now. And even then, they can only afford it because they have a buddy or girlfriend living with them to split the bills. One friend in particular, his rent is $700 a month. And there's places in my country that costs $2000+ a month to rent. Houses seem to be $150K+ Just a regular house. So yeah, unless you and the person living with you make decent money, it's hard. I can't live on my own.

It's practically impossible for an American making minimum wage, or even a few dollars more per hour, to afford a house in urban or suburban areas.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Wales has cheap houses that can be affordable eventually with minimum wage, but I sure as shit wouldn't live in them.

The only way I could afford a house is if I bought one out in bumble fuck nowhere that's 2 hours away from any work or entertainment. And my internet would get even worse

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
I could probably get a mortage with a graduates salary after saving and whatnot but I'd be paying for it until I die.
