If you haven't seen season 3, the big conflict is over Frank's new jobs program called America Works. The idea is that entitlements are a failing system, so he wants to allocate the $500 billion from them to fund job creation and ultimately reach full employment, meaning anyone that wants a job will have it, be it in government, military, or private sector.

This generation will surely never see benefits from social security, so I'm wondering what your thoughts on this are.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
I love Frank, but I'd hate him if he were a real politician.

I'm still watching to see how well they can explain/justify the concept, I'm hoping it's done well like the rest of the show has been so far but it's looking kind of... rushed >.>

As a concept, it's not too bad but the obvious issues that come to mind are the elderly and the infirm. Is it just gonna be 'bury them in the great wall of texas' as structural support or is there going to be some sort of care for those who've already spent their life working <.<

I can't tell whether or not I'm disappointed with this season.

I'm reserving judgement <.<

I've only seen the first two eps so far, seeing Stamper getting somewhat better was nicely done. But yeah... it's been a little 'oh making this mistake again are we, gg' <.<

I'm getting close to the end and so far it's been pretty underwhelming.

Ah, it's not just me then.

It's pretty. . .

I don't know. . .

It's good. . .

But. . .

I don't know. . .

There's no intrigue. They're not playing cat and mouse with anyone, not hiding any murders or scandals. It plays out like a particularly depressing season of The West Wing.

It sounds to me that they're just chugging along because KEVIN MOTHERFUCKING SPACEY if even Meta seems to be getting bored of it <.<

That's a shame, I really enjoyed the first season.  Haven't watched the second yet.

That's exactly it.

I love the dynamic with Petrov, but it just doesn't feel the same. There's nothing really to look forward to. The ending--while I won't spoil it--is somewhat like a cross between Halo 2 and Dexter.

I both love, and hate it.

I'm only on episode 4 but I think the America Works program is a really good idea. It's true what he says about needing to do something you don't like to make the country better.

it's like in Utah where they give homeless people homes instead of welfare benefits. When they have a home that can take care of themselves and work on their own.

The government has nowhere near enough information to efficiently allocate all of the labour oversupply.

Not to mention, you want some unemployment.
