A second secret email address used by Hillary Rodham Clinton while she was secretary of state was revealed Monday.

The email address, published by The New York Times, was used in exchanges between Clinton and longtime adviser Sydney Blumenthal, and is from the same private email server that was uncovered earlier this year.

โ€œFyi. The idea of using private security experts to arm the opposition should be considered,โ€ Clinton wrote Blumenthal from the email address HRod17@clintonemail.com.

The two were discussing strategies to help the opposition rebels oust Moammar Khadafy in Libya as that country descended into chaos in 2011.

Clintonโ€™s office insisted just two months ago that the only private email address used by the former secretary of state during her tenure was hdr22@clintonemail.com.

In a 2015 letter to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Clintonโ€™s lawyer acknowledged that the HRod17 email address existed, but stated explicitly that it was โ€œnot an address that existed during Secretary Clintonโ€™s tenure as secretary of state.โ€

The time stamps and content of the messages make clear that this statement was inaccurate, according to the Times report.

The first private email use was seen as a breach of protocol. Clintonโ€™s advisers handed over 55,000 pages of emails to the State Department so they could comply with an investigation. But, according to Vice News, those emails will not be made public until 2016.

Clinton admitted to deleting thousands of others, claiming they were personal.

The revelation of a second email address raises questions about Clintonโ€™s transparency and her relationship with Blumenthal.

The longtime Clinton confidant was not working at the State Department at the time, but advising American contractors that sought to do business in war-torn Libya.

In another email after Blumenthal suggested the new Libyan leader, Mohamed Magariaf, would โ€œseek a discrete relationship with Israel,โ€ Clinton wrote to her deputy Jake Sullivan, โ€œIf true, this is encouraging. Should consider passing to Israelis,โ€ according to the Times.

Blumenthalโ€™s coordination with Clinton raises the likelihood of additional scrutiny as she runs for the White House.

While he was not given a job in the State Department by the Obama administration, Blumenthal was employed by Bill and Hillary Clintonโ€™s philanthropic organization, the Clinton Foundation, to help with research and โ€œmessage guidance,โ€ according to the Times.

At the same time, the Times reported, Blumenthal also was helping to craft Hillaryโ€™s 2016 presidential campaign message by working as a consultant to Media Matters and American Bridge.

i kinda doubt it really. shes on the receiving end of a whole lotta negative ad pressure. half the country was already gonna stomp their foots and refuse to vote across the aisle and she's alienated a huge chunk of the democratic base. someone else will step over her, methinks. i dunno who that might could be tho.

unfortunately that "im a socialist!" thing isnt gonna work out for him in this america. thats on par with "communism" in terms of buzzwords that scare us. i think he'll run a great campaign and ill vote for him if he gets the chance but i think he's in a lotta trouble. he might could win a looooooooot of people over by debating circles around the republicants and hilldawg, but i dont have that much faith in the american people really. i think if another dem wins he'll definitely get on their cabinet tho

His major quality is the stability of his platform. He's basically run on the same platform for the last 30 years, and he doesn't spend time slamming his opponents. I've seen a few recent interviews with him and everyone keeps asking him about Hillary, and he'll just bring it back to him and his policies.

Hopefully people can see through the OMG SOCIALISM argument and take a look at his voting record and policy support from the last few decades.
