I don't think so.

I mean, it's hard not to harbor a greater resentment for fundamentalist Islam whenever there's a big terrorist attack, but I don't let that influence my politics in any way.

I'd say Cologne was pretty close to that sort of thing.

Partly because the scale of it was staggering but more-so because of the fucking coverup the krauts tried to pull on it. And then their subsequent shit-kicking trials of the whistleblowers over it.

That's where I went from fairly sympathetic towards the refugees to more... hmm how to word it... 'Get the fuck out' comes to mind.

The more videos you see, proper reports not just some dashcam breitbart article where these 'refugees' are actually just economic migrants from shitty rapey countries you lose a lot of sympathy for their 'plight'.

Maybe this is unfair, maybe not.
But to be quite honest, if your country is a shithole then you should be trying to make it a better place and not just running away to the greener grass of gibsmedats.

Yeah it's kind of rough being the world leader Republicans want us to be once again, when we can't even do something as simple as shelter a few refugees. America's burden on it is far less sever than Europe. Am I saying just open the flood gates? No, screen them, watch them. Our intelligence is the best in the world.

But I hate this double standard where people want us to be a world power once more, yet are too afraid to take the mantel of leader and help out in this situation. We made the same mistake with the Jews in the 20's and 30's when we turned them away, and now you see us cozying up to Israel out of some pathetic guilt and some "alliance" which probably does more harm than good to us.

and what does helping Japan after a Tsunami have to do with being a world power? Or Haiti after their Earthquake? Taking a leadership role is what I'm on about. The US has far more resources at their disposal to help take the burden off our European allies and does far less. But then again, I always thought Obama had a horrible foreign policy. Not even just the refugee thing, he's just spineless since he got elected to pull people out of a war, and has been hesitant to show any force.

I lost all respect for the Democratic upper people by just how much they rigged all of this in favor of Hillary. The debate schedules, announcing she won Iowa before it was even halfway counted (odds are Bernie won), super delegates (which is literally a big fuck you to people who vote), and refusing to take Bernie seriously.

I honestly hope he runs Independent just to give a big middle finger to the Democrats and make them realize that cozying up to big business like Republicans isn't going to get them anywhere.

No. My beliefs and views have almost remained unmoving since I formed them. However a lot can happen in two years, and I feel I have had some form of a shift in my beliefs over such a short amount of time. This however, has mostly been from personal experiences and not world events.
