EDIT: it's several people, not just three. There could also potentially be more than one gunman.

In 2011, there were 32,163 deaths related to firearms in the United States - ~11,000 of those were homocide. In Australia, that number was 188.

In 2010, there were 31,679 deaths related to firearms in the United States - ~11,000 of those were homocide. In Australia, the number was 230.

Yes, the number has gone down in 2012, but the sheer difference is extremely overwhelming.

I wonder what percentage of that was committed with not only illegal guns, but illegal guns the government provided to cartels then came back across the states. Law-abiding citizens are not committing crime, it's criminals that are and when you enable strict gun laws, you see cities like D.C and Detroit make up a large percentage of gun crime because there lacks the deterrence of an armed society
