I dunno what that really says about girls in hijabs that it doesn't say about folks with crosses around their necks. I think Muslims have proven themselves to be able to be secular/modern enough in the scope of first-world countries. My experiences with those in hijabs has been that they can be secular as all hell and just be demonstrating a "casual" adherence to religion comparable to the typical American Christian.

There's actually a girl in a burqa in one of my university classes, but I don't know her personally so I can't comment on her religiosity. All I can say is that, in terms of fashion, secular hijabs and burqas are pretty neat.

This thread is......colourless. There's nothing to discuss here. It almost has null value because of the statement made because I'd wager that nobody is going to say no to the argument.

And when the option to say no doesn't exist because it'd be stupid, people won't say yes either because it'd be pointless.

The Old World is not the same as the West. The Hijab is no more imposed on women then make-up and fashion is. All the women I see with Hijabs at Uni seem perfectly fine.

That's not actually a bad idea considering how toxic make-up is. Loads of unhealthy shit in there.

I doubt the make up corporations would be happy about that though.

I would in no way consider makeup to be an integral part of Western culture or religion, it's disgusting seeing girls being taught and encouraged to lie to themselves and everyone they know.
