Glenn Beck released his latest book โ€œIt IS About Islamโ€ on Tuesday, and he said there is something very different about this book than all of the others he has released. While his other publications have countless names on the title page, giving credit to the many people who helped create them, only Beckโ€™s name appears in โ€œIt IS About Islamโ€ because everyone else was afraid to be associated with it, he said.

โ€œWe had really, really good researchers on this book. But no one wanted their name on this book. Not that they disagreed with it โ€” they just know what it means. So do I,โ€ Beck said on his radio program. โ€œWe are so politically correct that โ€ฆ their jobs could be lost. They could be fired. They could come under persecution or death.โ€

Beck said the book describes Islam in the words of the Koran and the Hadith, not his own words, and therefore it shouldnโ€™t be controversial.

โ€œBut I will tell you, Iโ€™m not sure this book will ever make it into our libraries,โ€ he said. โ€œI doubt this book is on any library shelf in America when all is said and done, even if it sold 2 million copies.โ€

Beck said they made the book as cheap as possible because he truly believes Americans must educate themselves.

โ€œThe stuff in here will take you all the way from what [the Islamists are] saying today [and how] they possibly think they can get away with this, to what they believe the future is, to what their actual plans are for America,โ€ Beck said.

โ€œEverybody in this audience should have this because this is the fight of the future. This is not going to go away. The only way this goes away is total defeat,โ€ he continued. โ€œThe first thing you can do is be brave enough to speak the truth, but to speak it without malice, to speak it without opinion. โ€ฆ Just to speak the truth is an act of bravery in todayโ€™s world.โ€

Beck said the book will likely be the least controversial among members of the Islamic State because โ€œthey are the ones who believe it 100 percent.โ€

โ€œTheyโ€™re the ones who are checking with the imams and the clerics and saying, โ€˜Is it okay that I rape her?โ€™ โ€˜Yes, it is,โ€™โ€ Beck said. โ€œIโ€™m not doing this for shock value. Iโ€™m not doing this for money. Iโ€™m doing this for truth.โ€

I'm sure you guys would eat this book up, considering how anti-Islamic this forum is.

I don't doubt that he had other researchers on it, and his explanation for why their names aren't on it makes sense; but I find it hard to take the book as an unbiased source if I can't refer to the credibility of the work. Until such a time I can learn more about the conditions surrounding the book/read the book itself to see if there's a clear and present bias, no comment.

I am anti-Islam insofar as I'm anti-any other religion for promoting values I think harmful. The problem is that Islam is--in today's world--comparatively the worst when it comes to this.

In short, tens of millions of Muslims all over the world, not just in The Middle East demonstrably sympathize with the ideals of terrorist groups and/or Islamism. The support for this is stronger outside the West, but it is present even in the West. Islamist extremism is not a passing or fading phenomenon โ€“ it is shockingly consistent over time. And the Westโ€™s attempts to brush off the ideology of fanaticism has been an overwhelming failure. This extremist minority meme has to stop.
