Religious disputes, tolerance of lesser ideals and the corruption that brews quite easily in liberal or democratic nations has fed me up. What do you consider of the differences between the two ideologies?

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
Enlightened despotism is quite clearly the best structure and function for a government.

It's just a shame they're exceptionally difficult to manufacture.

You can always keep a parliament or a democratic body with a certain amount of power.

All hail the King! Death to the traitors in Parliament!

Only if it were a very minimalist/conservative technocracy.

You can't have experts running all or even most aspects of society and the economy, because it just doesn't work.

Humans aren't a collective which can be easily managed.

The most important job for government is to provide a stable system, inside which people have the liberty to be self-reliant and flourish.

so less is more, provide the framework and the social security and the people will do the rest.

Agreed but the Monarch should be the head of state and make the national decisions. Though I was making a joke about the usurpation of power by the protestant puritan parliament during the English civil war. Charles the 1'st did nothing wrong.
