If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.

Quote
A woman in Sweden has given birth to a baby boy using a transplanted womb, in a medical first, doctors report. The 36-year-old mother, who was born without a uterus, received a donated womb from a friend in her 60s who had gone through menopause 7 years earlier.
So yeah, that's good news, and very interesting how even a womb can still be used from a donor who's gone through menopause (though I'm not very educated on that sorta thing, so it could be normal that the womb is completely unaffected by menopause).

But...on a complete spin on the news story, discuss how while that is great that it's easier to fix infertility and allow them to have children for those who want it, that ultimately there are too many people on this planet (or not, there's always at least two sides).

So yeah...talk about this medical marvel being exactly that, and the side-discussion I've added just because.

Holy shiet .-.

It's funny, I spent a while researching the loopholes on human genetic experimentation in the UK and it's surprisingly lax <.<

They make the assumption that the only way to bring a baby into the world is with a mother's womb, well if you can transplant one... it's not too far-fetched to conceive (pun intended) of an artificial womb >.>

If someone makes one of those, then assuming that they haven't updated the law in the last few years... someone could sneakily and quickly breed glow in the dark human babies >.>

Train them to work in search and rescue of course.

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
Womb transplant? That's kind of freaky.

I thought so too.

Who knows? In the far-away future, people who undergo a sex change could actually change sex and produce children, for want of a better description. (though I guess you'd have to modify it slightly, seeing as atm you'd need ovaries. Next scientific step would be to change sperm into eggs somehow).*

That's good news, as long as it won't lead to babies being grown artificially.

Even greater news for those who undergo sex changes.

It's like the transplant of any other organ, really. Be it a heart, a liver, a kidney, etc. I don't see anything wrong with it.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

But it would certainly be a night to remember.
