yea, that's something moderate voters have just grown to accept among candidates. It's just an annoying tidbit that is probably passionately feigned in order to win over the crowd.

by all accounts it appears that he genuinely is a religious ideologue. ive heard stories that one of his harvard professors mentioned how his religious motivation clouds his otherwise impeccable intellectual faculties, but the sources i can find dont seem to actually have that disclaimer about his religiosity so take that as you will.
