This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
The Chicago School is a broad term encompassing various economists and 'camps' of thought, with the most prominent probably being Milton Friedman and orthodox monetarism which arose in challenge to Keynesianism during the 1970s. It was also home to people like Bob Lucas, considered the father of New Classical Macroeconomics, and Edward C. Prescott of Real Business Cycle fame. In reality, the distinctions between the schools have largely gone away since the 1990s, and the profession is for the most part no longer split up into opposing schools.
