I won't comment on the protests but people are gathering in large crowds at very close proximity and shouting, releasing particulates into the air. I'd be concerned about COVID spikes in these areas. Organizers of these events should really be encouraging wearing masks

Well a lot of protesters (and I'd imagine most rioters) wear masks anyways to hide their identity so you would hope that would at least help.

Thankfully I've seen most people wearing masks in my area, but I'm worried the teargas is going to help this spread. It stimulates a lot of bodily fluid production (tears, mucus, saliva, etc) and with crowd density being an issue this will make things MUCH worse.

Lockdown is officially over in my state, ahead of schedule; governor caved under pressure.

Ireland pretty much ended the lockdown. Went to my local store today and it was crowded and I was the only person in a mask. Seriously. Its a massive center and not one person had a mask on.

Really? I live in a very conservative, and pretty anti-lock down area and about 50% of people I see in stores are still wearing masks, and all social distancing rules/guidelines are still enforced.

Just went and got tested this morning. Not a pleasant experience, but at least it was free and quick. Sucks that I can't work until the results come back, but I have been so exhausted lately that it's probably a good thing for my health.

I take it you work somewhere in an essential service category? It would be a good thing, no doubt. Exhaustion of any kind wears down your immune system, among other factors. Just take it easy and be a sloth for a bit.

It's quite surreal to have been present in the area when some of these events occurred. If there's one thing that's certain it's that traditional media sources are making it clear where their biases lay.

Also I've gotten my results back (negative), so I can work again! Now I'll have normal money stress instead of zero-income money stress.
