I decided to bring this up because a couple of days ago (2 days), there was a lot of speculation that the sole person running this page was found and executed by IS.

Discuss this page and what you think about pages like these (a more well-known example is Raqqa is being Slaughtered Silently) I guess.

Don't have much to say really. It adds a certain reality to things. The particular statement telling to delete information off phones and computers...

Imagine that. A bunch of people force their way into your home and start going through your stuff. They find something they don't like and they kill you.

Where do you run to in that part of the world that isn't falling apart? Who do you run to withour being deported back to your country?

It reaffirms my belief that where I live is the only place I should be. And hopefully, in due time, what ISIS is doing is all regulated only into history books.

Glad that somebody out there is trying to help with what they can.

Could be a new thing in Mosul. Especially since Mosul Eye is nowhere near as notorious as Raqqa is being Slaughtered Silently.

IS in Raqqa has recently adopted an extremely hard line against Raqqa is being Slaughtered Silently. They're laying traps, offering bounties, doing raids. They've even caught several members of that organization, and they were unsurprisingly executed immediately after.

It's great that people are doing things like this ^ to help others, even at risk of rather a messy death.

No wonder North Korea has attempted to censor the internet, when social media can be used as a form of underground resistance with far less risk of being caught like KDP/SDP/Red Orchestra groups did under Nazi occupation (of which, all of these were raided and stopped by the Gestapo).

Neither did the Afghanis when Russia invaded.

I see how that relates but the US armed the Afghanis didn't they? Either way it still doesn't really get us anywhere. The civilians have nothing to fight with, no leader, no organisation, it would just be suicide. And if they doesn't bother them then blowing themselves up near ISIS bases would be much more effective than running at them alone with a gun.

It's because....

Unfortunately several residents of Mosul genuinely support IS. There's a reason why Mosul Eye is way smaller than Raqqa is being Slaughtered Silently despite the fact that Mosul has about 6 times the population as Raqqa.

And obviously IS controls the media and just about every aspect of life in Mosul.

He hasn't made any posts since the 9th of April, but on the other hand, he's had week-long gaps before posts as well. I'd start worrying after another week or so.

And the battle for Mosul will probably start very late this year, if not next year. There was a lot of expectations that it would be happening around now, but given the Iraqi Army's abysmal performance in Tikrit, there's no way in hell it's happening within the next few months.

Mosul Eye We faced some technical difficulties and had to take the page down to fix them, and now we're back.
