Someone in the Bungie thread pointed out that the reason they had him on was to discuss his religious post, so it doesn't make sense that they would cut him off just because he was talking about religion.

It even mentions this in the article posted...

They didn't handle anything. The show went offline after the guy mentioned Jesus, so the more right wing and religious crowd is seeing this as CNN deliberately cutting of the show and faking an accident just because the guy mentioned something religious.

The gaping hole here however is that the religious aspect is exactly the reason why the guy was brought on the show to talk, so it would make absolutely no sense to invite someone on your show to talk about something controversial and then fake an accidental cut-off as soon as he opens his mouth.

What I'm saying is if they cut him off due to time constraints, that's not a valid reason.
Do I know for sure why he was cut off? I'm not going to say I will, because I don't work with them
