There's really no point in making it official short of a political statement.


It's not like making it an official language would change anything at all.

I would advocate requiring English for citizenship, though.

Why would I need to learn Spanish if I rarely visit Mexico and I live in a English speaking country? I know just enough to get by with purchases and to ask for things.

There are reasons why I never bothered with Spanish, other than being something I shouldn't be learning.
