Can Americans living abroad vote in US elections.

Just a bit of curiosity.

Since Congressional and Presidential elections are based on you voting in/for the area/person that represents you. And if you were living abroad, you wouldn't be living in any state or county which could be represented by a Congressman or by Electoral votes. So I imagine that Americans living abroad can't vote in US elections, unless someone could prove me otherwise...?

Assuming that you're not permanently living elsewhere, I believe you can file a mail-in ballot for your stateside place of residency.
You'd have to actually look into the law though.

I'm just curious. Cause I am also of Greek nationality, and I'm allowed to vote in Greek elections from the Greek consulate in San Francisco. Though I wasn't able to fucking register in time for the elections, and I'm pissed I missed out on them since the party I wanted in power ended up only two seats away from majority. (which 151 out of 300 seats)

Have you even lived in Greece? Why should someone of Greek decent vote in elections when they've never lived there?

No, no, no...

I'm a citizen of Greece (so I am a dual citizen between Greece and the US). The way Greek nationality law works is that it's passed down from the holder to their child. So I had it inherited from my mom who actually lived in Greece. I myself have never lived in Greece, but I go there fairly often since most of my family still lives in Greece/Europe. There's a long story behind all of that, but I'm not gonna type paragraphs for no reason.

It's nothing like that, I don't think. Unless they renounce their US citizenship, but then it wouldn't matter.
