Part of me would like to believe that some mystical allfather in the sky is willing to forgive the fucked up things I've done in life, but part of me feels like that's just too easy, and another part would want to hate that god for setting me up on that path.

Well this has happened to me very recently, and as a matter of fact, I do believe it was God. I'll leave it at that and let you assume that I am in face a born again Christian now.

I wouldn't use the word supernatural, but plenty of odd happenings have gone down that I couldn't explain. I'm not one to dismiss everything like the cliche guy in a horror movie ("It was probably just the wind!") but I also don't just attribute an event to a specific entity or construct without knowing more about it.

I don't believe in the supernatural, at least in the contemporary sense of it. Even as a Christian, the Bible doesn't talk much about supernatural acts. We consistently see God work in the realm of the created universe. When miracles do happen it's a huge affair, and even those could probably be explained with a deeper knowledge of the physical universe and the extent and nature of God. For instance there are sound explanations for a flood, the plagues, and more. But the real issue is that miracles are inherently exceptional to nature; Yet, so was fire to Homo erectus.

I'm a fair believer in free will, that I can choose what to do with my life. I personally don't know if there is a God or many, but I do believe that there is something unbelievable powerful out there.
