When investigations are called, things like gay marriage legalized, jobs opened up to women etc... Why do you care?

It's not like you were ever going to Ranger School. You aren't going to be forced into a gay marriage. You aren't really going to pay for an investigation into the reservations, and not really for what it would take to fix them.

So why care? You could say "My white guilt." So, don't feel guilty. It's really as simple as that. Literally none of the changes being called for effect you on any level. Why do you act like the do or will?

Strange... I didn't post any... I gave three examples. Most "Social Justice" causes don't really effect anyone. I gave an example of three of the most discussed.

About Gay marriage, I really wish people would be just as passionate if not more about productive things than they are about something so petty; every-now and then I watch a documentary about NASA and the space race, and wish that people cared about that and not this.

But to clarify my position. What do you think is the purpose of marriage? it's to create an environment in which both parents are dedicated to raising children. If you just want to have sex, why get married? Now this alone is not a complicated idea, two people love eachother and want to start a family - you don't necessarily need religion or government to help you with that, but the two systems have attempted to provide a justification for their intrusion.

For the government it is a matter of survival, if the population is not reproducing then all the citizens grow old and/or die, and the country ceases to exist. likewise young people and old people cannot work and maintain the country, so a constant supply of people is needed to keep things running. So it is in the government's best interest to encourage couples to reproduce, which can be done by providing tax breaks and other bonuses to couples that have kids.

For the religion you have to ask what the purpose of religion is, and I would argue it's simply to help maintain a community:
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
I'm not even a christian and yet I can see that keeping people together is the best thing about a religion. Furthermore the religion itself needs followers to survive, so like the government it directly benefits from supporting families.

Now where do gays factor into this? trick question, they don't. The entire concept of gay marriage is a contradiction because gay people cannot biologically have children with eachother, which is the entirre point of marriage; neither religion nor government has any incentive whatsoever to support them; you wouldn't pay someone to masturbate all day, yet you'd give tax breaks to people who only want to fuck eachother?
